After six years of work was opened on 12 February 2012, the new stretch of motorway bypassing the town centre will bring the flow of traffic to the suburbs to the north and to the beach of Akaroa.
Coming from the south, you will enter the new tunnel west of King Street, coming just over the Government hill.
So we will go to the new bridge Endeavour and will move to Plymouth, continuing you will pass the suburbs of Patea, Kiaroa, Hillingdon and finally Akaroa.

Il nuovo museo e Opera Theatre Kia Ora

Helena necessitava di un grande ed importante museo della cultura Maori e di un più grande teatro per manifestazioni importanti.
Ecco quindi il Kia Ora Opera Mueum, costruito sul King Wharf

Saint Andrew's Cathedral

La cattedrale anglicana di Helena. I lavori di costruzione iniziarono nel 1843 e venne consacrata nel 1878. Ancora oggi manca della torre centrale.
